L.G. Ch.7

Indirect Kiss.

The next day, Futaba-senpai took one of the side dishes from my lunch box, just as she had declared.

“Oh, fried chicken. Itadakimasu.”

Taking the chopsticks from me, she quickly popped the fried chicken into her mouth. She rolled her eyes in surprise as she chewed it with a grunt.

“This is delicious. It’s not frozen, is it?”

“By the way, I feel like it was fried from the morning.”

“It’s amazing. Narumi’s mother must be very diligent.”

“No. This is my sister’s…”

“Big sister?”

“She goes to a cooking school and makes lunch for the whole family. I told her it’s okay to buy.”

“I’m jealous.”

That’s great, Futaba-senpai said with satisfaction.

“That’s nice. I wish I had a big sister who could make my lunch.”

“Do you have any siblings?”

“I have an older brother. I used to play with him a lot when I was a kid, but not so much these days. Unlike me, he is outdoorsy. He has a lot of friends.”

“He’s the opposite of me.”

“That’s true. And I’m the complete opposite.”

Laughing, Futaba-senpai rummaged through the plastic bag and began to eat the yakisoba bread.

After about two bites, she said as if she remembered.

“Oh, that’s right. It was a promise of exchange.”

Senpai wiped her mouth with a tissue. She carefully wrapped the yakisoba bread in the wrapping paper and turned her body toward me.

“Yes, you can have a bite.”

She held out the yakisoba bread to me.

The yakisoba bread at the store is one of the most popular deli breads. The bread is soft and very tasty.

“What’s the matter? Do you hate yakisoba bread?”

Futaba-senpai tilted her head.

It’s not that I don’t like it.

I don’t dislike it, but the two words “indirect kiss” keep coming to my mind. The cross-section that Futaba-senpai is offering is the one she ate earlier.

It’s mellow.

“What’s wrong?”

“No, I don’t hate…”

“You don’t have to be shy. Go ahead.”

“…Okay.”

No, no, no.

This is just an extension of friendship. I mean, everyone does it. It’s normal, normal.

In the first place, she’s using my chopsticks without my permission.

“Itadakimasu.”

I took a bite of the yakisoba bread.

“Is it good?”

“It’s delicious.”

I was too nervous to taste it.

“That’s right. It’s like I entered this high school because I like the yakisoba bread here.”

“Yes…”

“What’s that, raw answer?”

“I’m listening. I’m in.”

“Okay. When I first tasted this yakisoba bread, I was so shocked that I didn’t know there was such a thing as good food in the world.

“…You’re exaggerating.”

“It’s not an exaggeration. It was really delicious.”

“You eat the same thing every day, so I admire your passion.”

“Yeah, yeah. Besides…”

She looked up at the blue sky.

“I never thought I’d be able to eat like this with someone else. I’m really happy now.”

Futaba-senpai, who began munching on the yakisoba bread, looked happy, just as she said.

…I was fascinated by her profile for a while.

It was refreshing to see someone so happy next to me.

It’s strange.

“Hmm?”

Noticing my gaze, Futaba-senpai glanced at me. Her eyes fluttered, and she quickly hid the yakisoba bread, wondering what I was thinking.

“I’m not giving it to you anymore.”

“…huh?”

“Yakisoba bread. It’s just once a day.”

“No way. I don’t want any more.”

“I doubt it.”

She wrinkled her brow and began to stuff the yakisoba bread into her mouth like a baby squirrel.”

“Oh, no. If you eat that fast, you’ll choke.”

“Momofu.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Mmm.”

As expected, Futaba-senpai’s face turned pale.

“Gehogeho”

“I told you it was…”

I handed her the mineral water. After pouring the water down her throat, senpai sighed loudly.

“I thought I was going to die.”

“Please don’t be silly. Do I look like the kind of little person who would take a loaf of fried noodles from someone?”

“It’s one of the possibilities.”

“No, it’s not. If you don’t taste it properly, I feel sorry for the yakisoba bread.

After a short pause, Futaba-senpai nodded her head in agreement.

“That’s true, too.”

She started eating the yakisoba bread again. This time, she ate it carefully, chomping on it like a small bird nibbling on its food.

I couldn’t take my eyes off her.
