“Ao, just because there’s a new girl coming, don’t seduce her, okay?”

“I won’t do that.”

“Ao-chan, before you know it, there will be more girls you don’t know, so I’m worried about you.”

“I doubt that.”

“That’s right, big brother. Don’t be like that too much, okay?”

Rimi was staring at me, making me break out in a cold sweat.

We have a male constable coming to our house today.

Today, or rather since yesterday, Rimi and Mom have been fidgeting.

Just then, the chime rings, and Mom quietly walks over to the intercom.

“Who is it?”

“I’ve been dispatched as Soshigaya Aoi-sama’s male bodyguard starting today.”

“I understand. I’ll open the door.”

Mom, Rimi, and I were all a bit nervous as we opened the front door.

“Starting today, I will be working here. My name is Sari Shirogane.”

“Yes, sir. I look forward to working with you.”

I was in awe.

“I don’t know if I can prove it, but I graduated first in my class from the Male Protective Service Academy and I’ve achieved the highest rank in all martial arts and have received full training in all of them.”

“Hmm. Hmm. Why would someone like that protect Ao-chan? Isn’t that kind of person supposed to protect a Hollywood star or something more amazing?”

“I did last year, but that one just didn’t do it for me.”

Saying that, Shiragan-san quickly looked away.

“I guess that means there’s a reason.”

“…… yes”

“Well, but if you’re that good, you’ll be able to protect Ao-chan well enough, won’t you?”

“Yes, sir. I’m on duty, sir. I’ll do what I’m given.”

Mother and Shiragane-san look at each other.

Then, Mom giggles, as if they’ve relaxed each other.

“I’m sorry. I’m very cautious when it comes to Ao-chan.”

“It’s all right. I’ve never met such a very kind gentleman before. Besides, he’s very good-looking.”

“Isn’t he? I’m proud of you.”

I haven’t talked to Shirogane-san once yet.

“Okay, Mom. This is the one, okay?”

“Yeah. Okay.”

“Once again, I’m looking forward to working with you. Shirogane-san.”

When I said that and held out my hand, she looked at my face and the hand that was held out to her with a surprised look on her face.

“Mr. Shirogane?”

“I knew it. You’re a wonderful person.”

She shakes my hand gently.

“Yes, that’s enough. You’re my big brother.”

“I see. But I belong to Ao-sama. I am Ao-sama’s property.”

“No, you’re not. You’re just a bodyguard.”

“No.”

For some reason, Rimi and Shirogane-san start arguing.
